Here are some great features of the Optoma HD20 High Definition 1080p:

I have used the projector with: satellite TV, a Blu-ray player, Xbox 360 games/movies, iTunes via laptop, and computer games. The picture looks phenomenal on all of them. It is a bit of shocker when you switch over from an HD sourced material to something non-HD like an old episode of the Wire. Suddenly a huge chunk of your screen is eerily empty.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Optoma HD20 High Definition 1080p:

The picture is amazing. Watching sports or playing video games make you feel like you are part of the game. It is a letdown to move to my bedroom with only a 50″ screen.

If you have the room (and darkness) to do a projector I highly recommend it. Bigger screen, similar picture quality and much less money.(Mark Cenit)

Here are some great features of the ViewSonic PJD6531w:

The project automatically points the screen up since it is more designed for presentation from desk height; this might be a good thing to you. For me, however, it is not. I mounted the projector about 9 ft high and have had to prop the back of it up about 3 inches in order to get it to display at a good level on the wall. I will soon be mounting it upside down to eliminate this.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the ViewSonic PJD6531w:

I love our projector, haven’t tried it with 3d yet though.

Just a quick fix, if you run into ports suddenly no longer working (it was both VGA’s for me,) check the brightness/contrast when that port is activated. It had turned the settings down to 0, thus leaving me with a greyish black screen even though it registers the input. (Victor Didra)

Mitsubishi HC3800 Review

Available on Amazon for $1,295.00 here.

mitsubishi hc38001080p DLP Home Theater Projector, 1300 ANSI, 6 seg. Color Wheel, 4000:1 contrast ratio, 7.9 lbs., HDMI input (v 1.3)

Some of this merits explaining. Sports gamma is the brightest of the three available gamma curves. Unlike the same mode on other projectors, it has very little green push. It’s also good about adding definition to the blacks without messing with the black point. I compensated for the green with a slight tint adjustment.

Here are some great features of the Mitsubishi HC3800:

Environment and Mounting: The projector was ceiling mounted in a windowless basement theater room about 16 feet from my 92×52 inch da-mat screen (gain = 1.0). The top of the screen is about 15 inches below the ceiling. Since the ceiling height was only 7’8″ I needed to build a recessed box in the ceiling so that the lens was just about flush with the ceiling.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Mitsubishi HC3800:

This was my first product purchase from Mitsubishi and I am a happy after looking at similar models. From the first impression, the video looks stunning. I kept factory settings including the low mode lamp, the image quality was as sharp as my Sony LCD tv. It is throwing 120″ picture from 14ft distance. I have connected the projector with 35ft HDMI cable and Blu-ray player is connected via Onkyo receiver. Given the price range and 2-years warranty including a free lamp offer, this will be hard to beat.(TV “TV”)

Here are some great features of the Vivitek H1080FD:

This is the perfect projector for someone who is looking for an entry level theater in their home… and maybe even more.

I am completely blown away at how sharp and bright this vivitek is. I am throwing up an 82 inch screen onto a flat ultra white base paint and this looks sharper than my 42″ LCD. The colors are vivid and the blacks are nice and dark. No issues and this is only in standard mode. The machine is whisper quiet also.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Vivitek H1080FD:

This ia like having an 85 inch HDTV at much less cost! Who needs the big expensive projectors with this quality and simplicity of use. The vivitek plus a good home theater system for less than $1200 (including screen and ceiling mount). The sound from the vivitek isn’t great but who would use it anyway! (Bill)

These video projectors  are available on Amazon at over  41% off retail price! Click this link to take advantage of this huge discount!

Here are some great features of the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350 :

•    Sharp, crystal-clear detail
•    High-definition, 1080p home theater experience
•    Stunning picture uniformity and positioning flexibility
•    Smooth gradations
•    Cutting-edge connectivity
•    Dimensions (W x D x H)

The Epson 8350 has a long 2.1 power zoom lens and vertical and horizontal lens shift. What this means is that you can likely put the projector on a bookcase shelf at the side of a room 10-15 feet away from your projection wall or screen and skip any formal installation whatsoever. The second important feature is brightness. Unlike my old projector, the new Epson is bright enough to project a good picture with room lights on. It can easily substitute for a 60 inch flat panel television, with modest light control measures.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8350:

“Living Room” mode is a touch less bright, but ups the contrast and gives slightly deeper blacks. For night-time viewing, the Cinema, Natural, and HDMI Color modes are all excellent. I found I used the HDMI color mode most often, as this gave excellent, black levels, good black level detail, and rich, deep colors. Switching between modes is a breeze, with a dedicated “color mode” button on the excellent (and lighted!) remote. (J. Martz “Jose Martinez”)
